NAME: Kylo Ren
CANON: Star Wars
CANON POINT: End of The Last Jedi
AGE: 29
BACKGROUND: Wiki
PERSONALITY: Kylo Ren is a ruthless creature at first glance. The mask he wore for much of Force Awakens is the symbol of his deadly strength as a Commander of the First Order. He does not hesitate to kill people and lay waste to his enemies. He acts with a ferocity and darkness that mirrors Darth Vader in his rise to power. Much like the mask he and both Darth Vader have in common, his presence strikes an ominous chord in those around him. As a result many in the First Order fear him, though there are those who see him more as a loose canon who is incapable of controlling his emotions. It's not hard to see why, as Kylo can be prone to bursts of rage which involve destruction of property within his viscinity.
Darth Vader, as he was known to the galaxy at large, is where Kylo draws his inspiration from. After learning of his family's true origins, his wish is to be the most powerful conquering force the galaxy has ever seen. He draws his strength from the dark side and distances himself from the parts of himself that truly show similarity to Darth Vader's humble beginnings: the Light Side. Kylo's obsession with his grandfather's legacy and the years of abuse inflicted upon him by Snoke cause a great unbalance in his heart and in his actions. He is often times emotional and unstable, and uses those emotions against his victims and enemies alike. While he tries to portray a sense of calm, Kylo Ren is like a walking storm.
Beneath the mask he is a frightened and lonely young man, feeling betrayed by his family and struggling to hold his tenuous place as Snoke's apprentice to prove his worth. While Snoke tries to suppress who his origins, banning the use of his birth name, he also mocks Kylo frequently for his heritage, claiming he has "too much of his father's heart in him" when he shows a moment of weakness to him. Though their relationship is that of mentor and pupil, there is an almost sinister air to it that calls back to Snoke's true intent: taking advantage of a boy whose family carries great weight within the galaxy. Kylo suffers years and years of emotional and physical abuse and frustration until he finally kills Snoke, with Rey's help.
While Kylo has tried to close himself off from the Light, his sentimentality for his family shows itself constantly. He feels betrayed by Luke but still holds love and regret for his parents. Throughout the movies thus far, Kylo is tested in his resolve to put aside the light and open himself to the darkness. After killing his father, he is tested again when faced with the possibility of killing his mother and chooses to let her live. This is a defining moment as he is still struggling with the fact that he murdered his father. His ties to his family and to the Light are not so easily extinguished, as much as he tries to do so.
His relationship with his subordinates, is more ruthless and cold. He often uses anger and shows of force to put his underlings in line, as well as aggression towards General Hux to show him he cannot be easily overlooked. When he kills Snoke he forces Hux to submit to him without hesitation. This ruthlessness and aggression make him as formidable as he is unpredictable. He hasn't earned the respect of those beneath him but he demands it with their fear of him instead.
Differing from his usual interactions, Kylo and Rey's relationship is more complex than how it started. Rey is probably the only person we are ever seen interacting with Kylo where he isn't yelling or physically injuring. While he does attempt this approach with her at first, having captured her and attempted to torture her for information, he finds more than he bargained for as Rey is capable of fighting him on equal footing.
Their relationship shifts somewhat as the Force has connected them to one another, showing both their thoughts and feelings. By the end of The Last Jedi, Kylo wants Rey to join him. He wants them to be equals and most importantly he wants her to know the truth. He challenges her black and white thinking (that he is always bad and Luke is always good) and tells her what happened to him the night he burned Luke's Jedi Temple.
While their connection within the Force is seemingly orchestrated by Snoke, they begin to develop a kinship as a result of their interactions. Rey tries to convince him to turn to the Light, which he is still resistant to. He still feels a great deal of regret and pain when it comes to his family, believing himself a monster after years of his parents struggling to control his growing powers and then Luke trying to kill him. It seems the only person left alive that still believes in him, besides Leia, is Rey.
POWERS/ABILITIES: Kylo Ren is an expert pilot and wielder of the Sith weapon of choice, the lightsaber. He trained extensively both in the Jedi and Sith arts of battle and learned piloting from an early age from his father, Han Solo.
Aside from basic piloting and hand to hand combat abilities, his Force Abilities are:

Aside from basic piloting and hand to hand combat abilities, his Force Abilities are:
- Force Stasis - halting the movement of an oncoming object or person. He can do this while also splitting his focus of other things, such as when capturing Poe Dameron in The Force Awakens and holding a blaster bolt in place in mid air while having a conversation with him.
- Force Choke - Using anger to subdue an opponent and choke them without touching them directly.
- Telepathy - invasion of another person's mind; typically used to torture.
- Telekinesis - both defensive and attack; used to send Rey flying into a tree.
- Evade Telepathy - He is able to mask his intentions when subjected to another's use of telepathy. He made use of this when he masked his intention to betray Snoke and kill him, despite the Sith Master being a constant presence in his mind.
- Force Bond - this is exclusive to him and Rey as they share a bond with one another through the Force that they can use to communicate to one another and see one another's location to a degree.
INVENTORY:
- His lightsaber as well the clothes he's come into the game wearing
- A standard issue First Order blaster
- Rations; this includes food packets and water to last at least a week, maybe more
- Regular (?) clothing for every day wear
- His helmet* (giving this it's own item slot because he isn't wearing it upon arrival as it was broken)
- Basic medical supplies, including bacta patches if allowed
