Interests: I am a huuuuuge Dragon Age fan so I am well versed in the lore and world. What interests me about the game is the ability to explore that world, to take a pan-fandom character and explore that world. I want to see my character delve into either politics or being an evil little jerk (because it's Kylo Ren, alright) or even someday redeeming himself. He would find the differences from his world and this one intriguing.

Canon World Star wars is an intergalactic world of magic and space creatures reconciled into one seamless existence. There are normal civilians and then there are the outdated religions of the Sith and the Jedi Orders who both use the lifeforce that surrounds them - called The Force - to fuel their abilities.

In more recent years both orders have become so small when once their battles were large scale and their numbers were plenty. Jedi were all but eliminated by a former Jedi Master turned Sith Lord, Darth Vader. The Sith are hellbent on galactic domination and oppression while the Jedi try to keep the galaxy safe from the tyranny of the Sith.

Currently the galaxy is at the brink of war again as the First Order tries to expand their reach and eviscerate anyone who opposes them through strength and advanced technology. The Resistance stands against them in favor of peace and freedom.

History

Kylo Ren was born as Ben Solo, son to war heroes Princess Leia Organa and Han Solo. He grew to develop Force Sensitive abilities at a young age, via the strength of his mother's bloodline and the Skywalker lineage. Ben had been trained in the ways of the Jedi by Luke Skywalker, his maternal uncle, for a time before they parted ways. He became Kylo Ren once he had been seduced to the dark side of the Force and joined the Sith. This was caused by his uncle attacking him in his sleep, when the Jedi Master sensed the darkness that had long been growing in his heart. This caused Ben to defend himself and then destroy the thing Luke loved the most: his budding rebirth of the Jedi Order.

For the last several years he has trained in the ways of the Sith under the tutelage of evil dictator Supreme Ruler Snoke, aiming to be his successor. This mixture of disciplines makes him a deadly foe on the battlefield.

Personality

Kylo Ren is a ruthless creature at first glance. The mask he wore once is the symbol of his deadly strength as a Commander of the First Order. He does not hesitate to kill people and lay waste to his enemies. He acts with a ferocity and darkness that mirrors Darth Vader in his rise to power.

Darth Vader also happens to be Kylo Ren's greatest mentor. His wish is to be the most powerful conquering force the galaxy has ever seen, without the weaknesses that caused his grandfather, Darth Vader, to fall to the power of the Light. This obsession and the years of abuse inflicted upon him by Snoke cause a great unbalance in his heart and in his actions. He is often times emotional and unstable, prone to fits of rage that appear in bursts. While he tries to portray a sense of calm, Kylo Ren is like a walking storm.

Beneath the mask he is a frightened and lonely young man, betrayed by his family and struggling to hold his tenuous place as Snoke's apprentice and prove his worth. Ben is emotional and volatile, bottling up sorrow and rage and channeling them into his strength as Kylo Ren. While Snoke tries to suppress who he really is, banning the use of his birth name, he also mocks Ben frequently for his heritage, claiming he has "too much of his father's heart in him" when he shows a moment of weakness to him. Ben suffers years and years of this abuse and frustration until he finally kills Snoke, with Rey's help.

While Ben has tried to close himself off from the Light, his sentimentality for his family shows itself constantly. He feels betrayed by Luke but still holds love and regret for his parents. Having murdered his father, throughout much of the Last Jedi Ben is tested in his resolve to put what happened behind him. He is tested when faced with the possibility of killing his mother and fails, still struggling with the fact that he murdered his father. His ties to his family and to the Light are not so easily extinguished, as much as he tries to do so.

His relationship with his subordinates, is more ruthless and cold. He often uses anger and shows of force to put his underlings in line, as well as aggression towards General Hux to show him he cannot be easily overlooked. When he kills Snoke he forces Hux to submit to him without hesitation.

As for his relationship with Rey, Ben shows a less awful side. He wants Rey to know the truth of what happened to him and that Luke Skywalker is not the hero the rest of the world sees. After their first battle they develop a connection through the Force, supposedly orchestrated by Snoke. They begin to develop a kinship as a result of the connection and Rey tries to convince him to turn to the Light, which he is still resistant to.

Strengths & Weaknesses

Kylo Ren is an expert pilot and wielder of the Sith weapon of choice, the lightsaber. He trained extensively both in the Jedi and Sith arts of battle and learned piloting from an early age from his father, Han Solo.
Aside from basic piloting and hand to hand combat abilities, his Force Abilities are:

• Force Stasis - halting the movement of an oncoming object or person.
  
• Force Choke - Using anger to subdue an opponent and choke them without touching them directly.
  
• Telepathy - invasion of another person's mind; typically used to torture.
  
• Telekinesis - both defensive and attack; used to send Rey flying into a tree.
  
• Evade Telepathy - He is able to mask his intentions when subjected to another's use of telepathy.
  
• Force Bond - this is exclusive to him and Rey as they share a bond with one another through the Force that they can use to communicate to one another and see one another's location to a degree.
  

His weaknesses are purely mental as Ben struggles with the internal battle between the Light and the Dark sides. This causes him to be volatile and emotional and rash. He is not the best at planning things through, though he adapts well to most situations to work things in his favor. He also is highly sentimental and holds onto his family ties - even the ones that cause him pain. He is also still susceptible to mortal wounds if injured such as when Chewbacca shoots him and Rey slices his face open using Luke Skywalker's Lightsaber, leaving a permanent scar.


Suggested Nerfs

I'm guessing most of his abilities fall under a permissions post, though whatever nerfs made appropriate for Rey I am fine with him having.

Fit

I think long term being separated from the galaxy he wants so badly to rule and oppress would do Kylo some good. He would be with Rey who has a calming influence but, more than that, he would be able to take a step back and take steps to adapt to survive. If that means he has to play nice? He absolutely will. He will want to find a way to remove the shard stuck to him thanks to the Inquisitor's anchor. He is not new to having to change his way of life to adapt and survive, having done so over the years as he trained to be a Sith Master and endured years of abuse. I think he will bring an interesting blend in any rp setting as any game could always need more morally ambiguous people now and again to make it interesting.
